This antique 2 door cupboard has been completely redone in
traditional Halloween colors of orange and black. This is a full
real people size cupboard, not a miniature or doll furniture!! The
designs on this cabinet are completely original (and copyrighted!)
The scenes are done with my signature painting technique.
I have pulled inspiration from a variety of sources to create this
unique type of painting. It is reminiscent of the traditional folk
art scenes found on the walls of many homes. Only, here,
you find witches, tombstones, and little haunted cottages
scattered over the rolling hills of farmland and eerie
swamps. The scene on the front shows a portly
little witch stirring up some trouble in her cauldron on the edge
of a vast creepy swamp. On the left side, we see a graveyard with
tombstones guarded by a large tree. On the right, we find a
pathway that leads up to the little witch's cottage where it sits
overlooking the swamp. The top of the cupboard has also been
painted with a spooky swamp scene complete with cattails and dead
trees with moss hanging from their lonesome branches. The inside
of each door has also been painted with a scene so you can display
the cupboard open or closed. The scene on the inside shows a
pumpkin patch surrounded by a stone wall. A few trees and a stone
bridge over a small stream complete the country scene. The edges
have been finished in a black on orange crackle and each board
near the base has been decorated with a large black bat! The
inside and back of the cabinet have been left unpainted and are
natural wood. This is a spectacular one of a kind piece that is
suitable for year round decorating. It would also look great
holding part of your Halloween collection!
